Offering a holistic approach to the care of dying persons and their loved ones.

The Practice

The work of a Death Doula (or, as some may be more comfortable saying, an End-of-Life Doula) is a path of selfless service, compassion for community, and a willingness to gently meet others at a place in which they may be their most vulnerable self.

A Death Doula can be a guide through the processes of death and dying, as well as the steps after a loved one is gone. A Death Doula can be a resource, working with the dying and their loved ones to help them connect with the right people who can help fulfill their needs. A Death Doula can be an advocate, listening to the wishes of the dying and giving them the best possible opportunity to have those wishes met.

Perhaps most important of all, a Death Doula can be a friend, present to listen, to help, to plan, to cry with. Those who take this path to become a servant of the people are truly called to this necessary and ever-growing field of work.

May we be given the opportunity to shine a light of kindness to you and yours through one of life’s most challenging times.
